Guns in ads now that's ridiculous.

After the most recent school shooting in Parkland (FL), a group of us got into a discussion about how ridiculous it is that Hollywood still glorifies guns in movie posters. So much so that we decided to replace the guns with something equally ridiculous.

Anthem: We are a small spirited group with a shared purpose: to get guns out of movie posters and TV ads. We find it ridiculous that people, kids and toddlers can’t walk through their public spaces without seeing huge glorified guns and assault rifles just because there is a gun in the movie. This is one way guns are desensitized in this country. So we have been replacing guns with pickles in ads across New York City subway stations. Why pickles? Because that’s how ridiculous we think guns in movie posters look.

Current # of guns in ads that have been taken off the streets: 165
